Dog-friendly Perth: Best beaches, cafes, and parks for you and your pup
If you’re the kind of person who plans weekends around your dog (no judgement, we do too), then you’re in the right city.
Perth does dog-friendly properly. We’ve got leash-free beaches, parklands with agility zones, and cafés where your pooch is as welcome as you are (or sometimes even more).
We’ve pulled together some of our favourite local spots where dogs can run, roll, dig, and do what they do best. So if your weekends involve sandy paws, café stops, and a very happy tail, this list is for you.
Dog-friendly beaches in Perth
South Fremantle Dog Beach
A firm local favourite just south of Fremantle. This leash‑free stretch, often called “Little Dog Beach”, offers gentle waves and plenty of room to zoom (plus easy parking right beside the sand). It’s due for a big sprucing-up, including new toilets, showers, BBQ spots, seating and universal access paths thanks to a recent $2.46 million investment.
